Off the Port of Heysham, Lancashire,United Kingdom, 28th March 2016. The Isle Of Man Steam Packet Ferry MV Ben-my-Chree entering the Port of Heysham on Easter The Steam Packets sailings to The Isle of Man which have been disrupted after the lines high speed ferry the MV Manannan was involved in a docking accident last Wednesday when the catamaran ferry crashed into the pier at Douglas. Early indications suggested a “systems control failure” led to the crash and sailings between Douglas and Liverpool have been disrupted. The Company has brought in the MV Arrow and the MV Ben-my-Chree has been dedicated to passenger traffic between the mainland and the Isle of Man.
