Rydal Caves

Rydal Cave, Rydal Water, Rydal Cumbria, 27th September 2015, Walkers at the mouth of Rydal Cave, in the hills above Rydal Water Cumbria, Rydal Cave is situated on Loughrigg Fell and is actually a man-made cavern, which was formerly known as Loughrigg Quarry. Originally  hollowed out of a rocky outcrop above Rydal Water about two hundred years ago, supplying roofing slate to the surrounding local villages.
