The last Avro Vulcan B mk 2 XH558 photographed flying over Lake Windermere in the Lake District during her round Britain flight visiting the sites where the last of the RAFs V Bombers have been preserved on the 26th June 2015, This is a heavily cropped 15Mb image taken with an E0s 50D and 100-400mm IS zoom.

Expecting a 500 – 1000 ft transit through the Lake District I was like many in Windermere when disappionted when  she transited at around 2,000 feet.

The aircraft will continue to be operated by the Vulcan to the Sky organisation through out the remainder of the current air show season in the UK and will make her final flight this autumn after which she is scheduled to be maintained in ground running condition at Doncaster Airport formerley RAF Finningley
