Places First secure Planning Permission for their Morecambe Housing Regeneration Project
Some positive news for Morecambe……………having lived here for two years its nice to hear some positive news. This photograph was originally taken back in July 2012.
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH
I have been involved in photographing buildings since 1977, and one thing that is important is choice of lighting conditions. Old dilapidated buildings look more run down and distressed if they are photographed on an overcast day, which can be found even in a British Summer.
ABOUT THE STORY
Places First Manchester based property developer Places First have secured Planning Permission for the proposed redevelopment of the derelict Victorian properties in Chatsworth Garden s in Morecambe West End. The regeneration of Chatsworth Gardens is to be carried out as a two phase project and this first phase will see the regeneration of 28 empty Victorian properties which will be converted into 51 apartments and houses as part of their £5.5m scheme. Work is set to start on site during May 2014 with the first homes set to be released in June 2015. The properties are to be offered to the private rental market and will be managed by a Housing Association. The proposals will see the redevelopment of the site which will deliver a total of 92 apartments and house in Westminster Road, Albert Road, Balmoral Road and Chatsworth Road.
ABOUT THE FUTURE
Looking forward to June 2015, when hopefully the completed scheme can be photographed on a bright Sunny Day. Photographing buildings in bright conditions brings out the best the feel good factor
